IPS - Ground Wave Prediction System (GWPS)

GWPS is a sophisticated program for modelling ground wave propagation and for estimating ground wave range values under specified ground and operating conditions. The software can be run on any modern Windows platform; Eg. Windows 98/Me, NT/2000/XP. Testing is currently taking place for Windows Vista.

For a fixed set of conditions, a numerical range is calculated. This is the distance from the transmitter at which a signal of a specified quality can be detected. Estimates of the variation in range as a function of transmitter frequency, power or time of day are given, and the electric field strength as a function of range is also provided. GWPS also specifies the most suitable frequencies throughout the day for a given range.
